A man was fighting for his life today after a parachute jump went wrong.
The 50-year-old Witney man, who has not been named, was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, after landing heavily in a field opposite RAF Weston-on-the Green, near Bicester, yesterday afternoon.
Police said he had broken both arms, both legs and his jaw and had also suffered internal injuries. His condition was described as critical but stable today.
The British Parachute Association will be investigating the accident.
