GRESHAM Oxford Cheetahs aim to go out with a bang tonight, as they bring the curtain down on their Elite League speedway programme.
They face champions Ipswich Witches and are bidding to become only the second team in the league to beat the Witches twice this season.
The only team to have managed the feat is second-in-the-table Belle Vue. The action gets under way at 7.45pm.
For Oxford, Jason Crump will take his place despite dislocating his shoulder in a nasty incident at the Polish Grand Prix on Friday.
Oxford race for pride tonight, as their defeat at Belle Vue on Friday night ended any hopes they had of reaching the end-of-season play-offs. Both teams will be at full strength, which spells good news for Cheetahs' fans as they can see some of the world's best riders on show.
Ipswich boast the newly-crowned world champion Tony Rickardsson, who will be making his first appearance in England since picking up the trophy in Poland last Friday. They also have world No 3 Tomasz Gollob, who has built up a reputation for his colourful riding.
Add to that the British champion Chris Louis and British Under 21 championScott Nicholls, and Cheetahs have it all to do on a night that should produce some classic speedway action.
Oxford: J Crump, S Johnston, T Wiltshire, P Hurry, S Schofield, J Staechmann.
Ipswich: C Louis, S Nicholls, T Rickardsson, T Gollob, S Clouting, T Svab.
