A family is celebrating after quads were delivered in the maternity unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
Mum Min Smy gave birth to two sets of twins, one identical.
Mrs Smy and her husband Nicholas, both in their thirties, of Fox Close, Begbroke, near Woodstock, were said to be over the moon at the arrival of their first children.
The babies have been named Rosie Jacqueline, Jack Victor George, William Joseph and Jamie Cammeron.
Mr Smy's brother, Richard, said the whole family was delighted at the news of the birth.
He said: "Our father died six weeks ago from a stroke so this is like a new breath of life for the family. It has rejuvenated us.
"The whole family has rallied round to get bits and pieces for the babies.
"Our great-grandmother, who is 92, has even knitted blankets for the babies' beds.
