Motorist Richard Gibbs had to be cut from his Citroen AXC car after it smashed into a tree, in Manorsfield Road, Bicester, shortly after 8am today.
Mr Gibbs, 19, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, with a suspected broken leg and facial injuries.
Firecrews from Bicester used hydraulic cutting equipment to release Mr Gibbs, who, despite moving himself on to the passenger seat, still had his right leg trapped under the dashboard.
