A car driver left an elderly woman with a broken leg and wrist in a hit-and-run accident.
The 80-year-old woman was crossing Vicarage Hill outside the Royal British Legion club in East Challow, near Wantage, when she was struck by a light-coloured saloon car. She also suffered cuts and bruises.
Police believe the car, which will be dented at the front, turned into Vicarage Hill from High View and turned on to the A417 towards Wantage when it failed to stop after the collision.
Police are appealing for witnesses to call police on 01235 776000.
