Former pub landlady Kate Wren went back to the pints to toast her 103rd birthday.
Kate, the oldest resident of Oseney Court home for the elderly in Botley Road, Oxford, used to run The Greyhound in Worcester Street.
The pub was demolished in 1987 to make way for the re-development of Gloucester Green, the year before Kate moved into Oseney Court.
Jan Lovegrove, manager of the home, said Kate retained a good sense of humour and a determined spirit.
Mrs Lovegrove said: "She's very much a character. She likes her sherry still - she has a sherry every evening.
"Her sense of humour hasn't failed and if she doesn't want to do something she won't. I can imagine her as a landlady, being quite firm with people." Kate received cards from other residents of the home as well as the Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, Hugo Brunner, and a message and flowers from Oxfordshire County Council.
