Swindon Tn Res 0, Oxford Utd Res 1 UNITED'S Reserves gave probably their best performance of the season as they earned their second local derby win in a week in the Avon Insurance Combination Division 1 last night.
They beat an experienced Swindon side at the County Ground with a goal from Rob Folland just after half-time, the 19-year-old former Wales Youth international heading in a free-kick by Jamie Cook.
Matt Murphy had earlier had a penalty - awarded for handball by Bradley Peters - well saved by Town keeper Jimmy Glass.
The victory came after United beat Reading Res 3-1 at the Manor last week - a win which ended a run of four consecutive defeats.
"It was a good quality all-round performance," said United's assistant manager Mark Harrison.
"We've been playing some great football for a few games in the reserves and we totally caned Swindon. It was a pleasing clean sheet, but they didn't trouble us much."
United Res: Jackson, Remy (R Weatherstone 60), Folland, Rose, Wilsterman, Shepheard, Wright, Hill, Murphy (Richards 45), Nix, Cook. Sub not used: Brennan.
