A stack of stinking rubbish, which residents complained about for more than three months, has been removed.
The pile of about a dozen foul-smelling bin bags was dumped at the entrance to Eastwyke Farm, off Abingdon Road, Oxford, in June, said residents.
But now the hotel group responsible for the site, Four Pillars Hotels, based in Witney, has arranged for the removal of the rubbish.
Elizabeth Tyler-James, of nearby Lake Street, alerted the Oxford Mail to the rubbish last week.
She said this week she was delighted the smelly problem, thought to have been left from illegal rave parties over the summer, had been removed.
Ian Keeling, managing director of Four Pillars Hotels, said: "We were totally unaware that waste was being dumped on the land which will form the site of our new development."
He added: "We are thankful that Mrs Tyler-James has brought this matter to our attention and we have arranged for immediate clearance of the rubbish.
"We are committed to close collaboration with the local community."
Mrs Tyler-James said: "It's a relief the bags have gone, but I shall be writing to the council to ask them why it took so long to respond to my letters."
