SECURITY is being stepped up at a hospital amid fears that animal rights protesters could picket the site.

The Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford is on red alert for a possible protest today. A spokesman said access would be limited after police warned of the protest by an unnamed animal welfare group.

Only the front entrance will be open and visiting hours will be restricted to the morning and evening.
