A GIRL of 13 and her 15-year-old boyfriend have been expelled from an Oxfordshire public school for having sex in a boarding house, it was reported today.

The pupils from Bloxham School, near Banbury, sneaked out of an organised school dance and met in a television room.

Although they weren't caught, the pair were forced to confess about the sex session after rumours spread through the school.

The scandal occurred just weeks after girls were admitted to the 345-pupil school for the first time.

Headteacher David Exham has written to all parents about the incident.

He told them: "What took place was something that they had decided on together and had planned beforehand.

"I should make it clear that no school would ever claim to keep pupils under surveillance all the time. To do so would be a gross invasion of pupils' privacy and would be intolerable to them.

"I am obviously very distressed that it has been necessary to deal with the two of them as I did."

The £12,000-a-year school had tried to calm fears about going co-educational when it took the step at the beginning of term.
