Long-serving police inspector Anthony Laycock, accused of threatening to kill a colleague, appeared in court facing seven new allegations.
Insp Laycock, 44, was charged with threatening to kill Sgt Anthony Brown and possessing an offensive weapon, a walking stick, during an incident last month.
The new charges relate to alleged incidents on Sunday, including assaults on a police constable and a doctor, Banbury magistrates heard.
Laycock is also charged with being in charge of a car while unfit to drive and two counts of failing to give a specimen for a breath test.
The other charges are failing to supply a blood specimen at Banbury police station and one of failing to comply with the conditions of his bail.
Laycock, a divorced dad-of-two, from Ravenscroft, Bicester, joined the police at the age of 16.
He first served as a constable in Cowley in 1973 and later served in Oxford, Didcot and Witney. He rose through the ranks to become a sergeant after ten years and an inspector four years later.
He has worked in a number of fields including traffic, CID, research and planning, and complaints and discipline.
Most recently he was based at Thames Valley Police headquarters in Kidlington.
He was remanded in custody yesterday and the case was adjourned to Bicester Magistrates' Court on Friday.
