Crowds of cheering schoolchildren, waving flags, welcomed the Queen as she arrived to open Henley's new River and Rowing Museum.
It was a colourful sight as she travelled down the Thames in the company of eight Royal Watermen clad in their traditional Elizabethan scarlet uniforms.
Once on dry land, she was introduced to a line-up of dignitaries before going on a Royal walkabout. Then it was on to the museum for a tour around the galleries where she met staff and volunteers who had been involved in the £17m project.
Her Majesty also spent time speaking to Olympic gold medallists Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent. about their triumphs in the last Games and was impressed with Redgrave's massive medal collection.
