Four children suffered burns in two separate accidents involving fireworks over the weekend.
Three young girls were treated for burns after being hit by a firework during an organised display in Oxford while a young boy was injured when sparks showered on to the crowd at Bicester.
The Oxford accident happened during festivities at Roman Way Sports Ground, Cowley. Three girls, aged five, six and 12, suffered minor burns and were treated at the scene.
The father of the five-year-old girl from Cowley, whose hair was singed, said a firework had appeared to skim across the ground towards the crowd."
In Bicester, seven-year-old Max Williams suffered burns when a spark fell down the back of his neck.
He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, and treated for burns.
