A pensioner is recovering after being badly injured by a hit-and-run driver.
Millie Moss, 77, was struck by a car as she crossed Vicarage Hill near the Royal British Legion Club in East Challow, near Wantage.
The driver continued along the road and just missed a woman and her nine-year-old son outside the Goodlake Arms pub.
Mrs Moss, of Windmill Place, East Challow, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, with injuries to her left shoulder, wrist and leg.
She is now in recovering in Wantage Community Hos- pital.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident.
Pc Darren Price, who is heading the investigation, said it was thought a white or light coloured small car was involved, possibly either a Peugeot 205 or 309. A back light was not working.
