A young woman was raped after her car broke down in a country road early yesterday morning.
The 20-year-old from south Oxfordshire was parked at the side of the A4130 Didcot to Wallingford Road near Hadden Hill Golf Club when the attack took place at 1am.
She was on her own at the side of the road in her white Vauxhall Astra with the driver's door slightly ajar when she was attacked by a stranger who offered to help restart her car.
Detective Inspector John Fox, of Oxford police, said: "We're very anxious to speak to any drivers or passengers of any vehicles that passed at the time of the assault.
"The victim is very upset by the whole incident and she did not know the offender."
He said at least two cars drove past the Astra while the attack was taking place.
The attacker is described as a white male, aged 27 or 28 with a tanned complexion and short, dark, spiky hair and broad shoulders. He was wearing denim trousers and a light coloured shirt.
Anyone who saw the Astra parked outside the golf club, or the incident, should contact Oxford police on 01865 266166.
