Six people were hurt when a Thames train smashed into a 125 at Oxford station yesterday.
The Thames train with only a driver on board hit the stationary 125 from Hereford, which was about to leave for Paddington from platform one.
A spokesman for Oxfordshire Ambulance Service said: "Six people needed taking to hospital."
Railtrack officials launched an immediate investigation and interviewed the driver, who was shocked but unhurt.
Services were delayed yesterday but back to normal today. Thames Trains spokesman Lou Tate said: "The Great Western service from Hereford had arrived and passengers had left the train and others got on when an empty Thames train ran into it from the back. The 125 was knocked forward five or six feet. Six passengers were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital suffering from minor knocks."
