A teenage girl was robbed and a teenage boy was slashed across the face in two separate attacks in a town on the same day.

A youth was kicked and punched to the ground from behind in an unprovoked attack in Didcot town centre when he was slashed in the face with a Stanley knife.

Police are appealing for help in tracing three men who carried out the brutal attack in High Street, near the junction with Broadway, between 1.45am and 2am on Sunday.

A police spokesman said: "The men then fled, leaving their victim with superficial cuts to the forehead and face."

Two of the attackers were described as being well-built and more than 6ft tall.

The other man was of average build, between 5ft 10in and 5ft 11in tall.

Officers want to speak to anyone who saw a silver Vauxhall Nova, which they think may have been used by the three men, turn into Church Street at the time of the attack.

In the second incident, Shortly before 11.30pm, an 18-year-old girl was robbed of £20 in Haydon Road.

Police said she was tapped on the shoulder and spun round by a man, aged in his 20s.

The police spokesman added: "He put his hands on her shoulders and demanded she hand over all her money.

"The girl handed over £20 and the man ran off leaving her shocked but unhurt."

She managed to give police a description of her attacker as being white, unshaven, about 5ft 8ins tall. He had dark hair which was longer on top and worn brushed back. The man wore a black bomber jacket and dark jeans.
