CITY of Oxford could be fined after their Regional Hockey League match at home to Ramgarhia was postponed because the Ds weren't properly marked out on their Brookes University sports centre's Astroturf pitch.
When Ramgarhia arrived they complained that they couldn't see the lines clearly, and the umpires then made the decision that the game could only go ahead if both teams were happy.
But Ramgarhia were not and returned home.
The match will probably be replayed on the spare league date of March 20 unless Ramgarhia send in a formal protest, in which case the South League may choose to fine City.
A spokeswoman at Brookes University said the person detailed to mark the lines had gone down with flu.
