KARATE ace Cherise Hutchinson struck gold at the British Championships - and is now looking forward to fighting for her country in the World Championships in August.
The 25-year-old Witney instructor triumphed in the ladies under 55 kg event at Manchester, and also won silver in the ladies under 50 kg category.
She only took up the sport two years ago, but this summer's trip to Germany will be the second time she has represented her country as she competed in last year's World Championships in Canada.
Hutchinson, who runs her own class every Monday evening in Witney, is currently ranked No 8 in the world and is up to brown belt standard, a remarkable achievement considering the short period of time she has been competing.
She will be hoping that she fares better this time round, as when asked how she got on last year, she only commented: "Not very well," and quickly changed the subject!
But this time, Hutchinson is relishing the chance to show the world exactly what she is capable of.
