THE new Colt Space Star - which has just gone on sale - is manufactured at Mitsubishi's NedCar production facility in The Netherlands.
Mitsubishi says the five-door high-roof hatchback is compact in length but big on interior space - hence its name.
It made its UK debut at last year's British International Motor Show at Birmingham and 3,000 models are available for its first year. On the road prices range from £11,195 to £15,335.
The compact body of the Colt Space Star has a minimum turning circle of 9.6 metres for easy parking and agile
handling. Despite its semi-tall profile, the Space Star's aerodynamics are unaffected with an impressive 0.33 Cd figure. Inside, there's room for five adults as well as useful cargo space.
By using many common-platform interior features from the Carisma, development and tooling costs have been reduced.
Mitsubishi says the Space Star's tall profile increases headroom and enables a more upright seating position than in a conventional family car.
