ABINGDON Town blew a two-goal lead and missed a penalty as they crashed out of the Ryman League's Vandanel Trophy to nine-man Egham in a dramatic second-round tie at Culham Road last night.
Roger Charles fired Abingdon ahead from Anthony Wise's cross in the second minute.
And they looked to be on their way to their first win since Keith Stopps took over as manager two months ago when Richard Twine raced through to make it 2-0 in the 20th minute.
Third division Egham then had a player sent off for bringing Twine down outside the area as he powered through again.
Despite this, Egham struck twice before half-time to level the match, and then took the lead on the hour.
Egham then had a second player sent off for a second bookable offence, and Abingdon's misery was complete when Twine had a penalty saved after McNamara had been brought down.
