Teachers and parents are being urged to join a march through Oxford to protest about cuts in services.
Oxfordshire County Council is facing a £15m shortfall on the £38m it needs to keep services at an "acceptable level."
The Oxfordshire Stop the Cuts Campaign is holding a march through Oxford on Saturday to demonstrate against cuts in services.
A recent Mori poll of 1,000 people, commissioned by Oxfordshire County Council, showed that the majority of those questioned believe an additional £50 to £58 a year council tax a year is better than more cuts.
Health and social service unions have taken the lead in calling Saturday's march, which will assemble at noon at Keble Road. The march will end in a rally at the town hall, chaired by Oxford City Council leader John Tanner. Campaigners have hit back at claims that the demonstration is an anti-Government protest.
Campaign spokesman John Lister said: "It's not so much that we are anti-Government, as the fact that this Government is anti-Oxford."
