A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a teenage boy in an Oxford meadow.
Jobless Mark Numms, 24, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody by Oxford magistrates on Saturday.
He is accused of murdering 16-year-old Richard Jackson, who was found lying face down in a puddle in Angel Meadow on January 29.
Numms, a former resident of The Bridge homeless hostel in Iffley Road, spoke only to confirm his name and age during the short hearing at Oxford magistrates' court.
There was no application for bail and he will appear before magistrates again on Friday.
Richard, of Brassey Close, Chipping Norton, left home to live in Oxford shortly before his death.
Police arrested Numms in Cardiff on Thursday after launching a murder inquiry. He was charged the following day after questioning at St Aldate's police station in Oxford.
