OXFORD University recorded the first victory of the term when they beat a competitive Queensland University side 31-19 at Iffley Road.
The stronger all-round side, Oxford were always in command after first-half tries from centre John Kinniburgh, hooker Bede O'Connor and flanker Norman Celliers.
Although Queensland came back, the highlight of the second half was an idividual try by Dark Blues winger Nick Booth. Fly half Richard Governey completed Oxford's tally with three penalties and a conversion.
The match, sponsored by Alphagraphics, drew a good crowd of 400.
