IF you've wondered what a rally driver chooses to drive when he's off-duty, you'll find the answer at Motorworld's Mitsubishi showroom in Oxford.
The black Mitsubishi Evo V GSR belonging to rally ace Richard Burns is on display in the Botley Road showroom. Richard opened last year's Oxford Motor Show at Horspath, which was organised by the Oxford Mail.
The road-going model is based on the Mitsubishi Lancer in which Richard Burns won last year's FIA Rally of Great Britain and was the car driven by Tommi Makinen to win the FIA World Rally Championships in 1998.
The £30,000 car is also the first Mitsubishi Evo V to arrive in the county, and the four-wheel-drive vehicle has a list of special features.
The 2.0-litre turbo engine develops over 315bhp and is partnered by an upgraded braking system by Brembo which alone costs £3,500.
The Oz alloy wheels, Recaro sports seats and a serious rear spoiler give an outward indication of its performance.
