SWINDON Town boss Jimmy Quinn says he knows his team are in for a tough match in today's Division 1 derby at the Manor Ground because he has painful memories of his debut there 13 years ago - against a certain Malcolm Shotton.
"My debut was at Swindon and we got beat 5-0," he said.
"I played against Malcolm Shotton and Gary Briggs at the back. I always remember I was at the near post and I gave Malcolm a little shove and he ellbowed me in the gut - in the days when you were able to get away with that sort of thing.
"I was winded and I couldn't breathe for about ten minutes.
"It wasn't a very good debut at all and Oxford had a very good team at the time with John Aldridge and Ray Houghton, and we got walloped. I think we crawled out of the ground after the game."
As reported in later editions of yesterday's Sportsmail, Swedish international goalkeeper Paul Lundin will play for United's reserves at Fulham on Monday.
Lundin, who would be available on a free from Osters, trained with United for a short spell before Christmas.
