Tonight (Monday night): Strong north-westerly winds will bring further snow showers in to Scotland overnight with some drifting both of fresh and lying snow. Showers are also likely down the east coast of England, with snow in the north, but in the south possibly of sleet or even rain. For most of England and Wales the night should be generally dry and clear with the north-westerly wind easing down and becoming light inland. For Northern Ireland the moderate north-west wind will back south-westerly and the second half of the night will then become increasingly cloudy.
Tomorrow (Tuesday): The east coasts of both Scotland and England could have further showers during the morning, perhaps falling as sleet or very wet snow in the north. The remainder of Scotland England and Wales will have a dry and fairly bright start to the day. Northern Ireland will however be overcast as rain soon arrives from the west preceded for a time over high ground by further wet snow. During the afternoon the rain will extend eastwards into Wales and southern England and will later bring outbreaks of snow to western Scotland.
Outlook for Wednesday and Thursday: Rain will gradually clear from Northern Ireland overnight, and from southern England during the morning but may turn to snow for a time on its northern edge as it does so. But by the end of the day further rain and much milder weather will have reached Ireland, extending to most of the UK during the course of Thursday.
Oxfordshire: A dry and fairly sunny day with rather variable but generally small amounts of cloud, and feeling warmer as the recent strong north-westerly wind gradually eases during the course of the day. Max temp 9C (48F).
