CHINNOR breathed a sigh of relief after scraping past gallant Witney in the quarter-finals of the Morrells Oxfordshire KO Rugby Cup yesterday.
Witney, from two divisions lower than their opponents, recorded a 9-9 draw, but Chinnor go through to the last four as the away side.
There was nearly a shock, too, at Marston Ferry Road where a late try by Lewis Taylor earned Oxford Harlequins a 19-18 success over Wallingford.
The other two ties were one-sided affairs. Bicester gained an unexpectedly easy 32-0 victory over Chipping Norton, while flanker Rob Callaway scored two tries as holders Banbury routed Henley's second string 46-20.
In the semi-final draw, made this morning, Banbury will be at home to Oxford Harlequins on Sunday March 7, while a fortnight later Chinnor entertain Bicester.
