CANADIAN snooker star Kirk Stevens has Thame Snooker Club boss John Evans to thank for rescuing his career.
Stevens's cue was stolen in Leeds recently and Evans lent him his own when he played an exhibition match against home professional Lee Richardson at the Thame club at the weekend.
Stevens liked it so much, he asked Evans to borrow it for a forthcoming tournament in Canada. Evans generously said he could keep it.
A good crowd enjoyed a night of top snooker as Stevens made one sparkling century, losing only once to Dave Wright.
