THREE might be their lucky number, but there was no luck involved when Oxford's queens of the rink made history in the national indoor bowls championships at Exeter.

Cherwell's team of Pauline Maskrey, Anne Allmond, Kathy Hawes and Sue Lacey lifted the national fours title for the third time in four years - an unprecedented feat.
