OXFORD United's leading scorer Dean Windass did his old club a big favour yesterday by hitting two first-half goals to earn Bradford a 2-0 win at Bury.
The bottom three in the first division, Bristol City, Crewe and Port Vale, all won to make it even tighter at the basement, Crewe shocking West Brom 5-1 at The Hawthorns.
Said United boss Malcolm Shotton: "I spoke to Deano this morning and said a couple of goals would be nice.
"He's done me proud and I'm pleased for him because they're his first for Bradford."
