Princess Anne met medical experts in Oxford today to discuss a major international science initiative which aims to improve health in the Third World.
The Princess Royal officially opened the new headquarters of the Oxford International Biomedical Centre, a charity organisation based at the Westwood Country Hotel in Boars Hill, near Oxford.
She linked up with the daughter of the King of Thailand, Princess Chulabhorn, herself a scientist and professor of one of Thailand's top research institutes.
Princess Anne was due to continue her Oxfordshire visit later at the Warneford Hostel in Headington, to see occupational therapy facilities for children. She was also visiting the ACE (Aiding Communication in Education) building at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, also in Headington.
