Abingdon Tn 1,
Northwood 4
ABINGDON Town will face next year in the Ryman League Division 3 after Saturday's defeat at the hands of Northwood and wins for Wokingham Town and Barking condemned them to relegation for the second successive season.
With four games left, Abingdon have only pride to play for.
They fell behind after 14 minutes when Scott Fitzgerald fired past David Jenkins after the Town defence stood vainly waiting for an offside decision.
Northwood's second scored by James Burgess compounded Abingdon's woe, his shot finding the net off Nathan Woodley's heel.
Town went 3-0 down through Chris Gell before the break and it was 4-0 in the 75th minute when Sargent scored following a free kick.
Abingdon scored a consolation through Reuben Wells in the closing stages.
Abingdon: Jenkins, Rodney, Douglas, Hannah (Wyatt), McLennon, Woodley, Charles, Didcock (Twine), Banham, Price, Wells (McCormick).
