A royal visitor kept disabled Jen Blackman waiting in a taxi for nearly an hour as security staff refused to let her out.
Jen, 51, was due at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington for an occupational therapy appointment at the same time as the Princess Royal's visit on Monday.
Jen, of Marston, said: "She was opening a place for the disabled. It was so ironic. "We could not get anywhere near because the security guard told us we could not go up there. I have been in a wheelchair for 20 years and am pretty easy-going, but I found the whole situation a little bit rich. It wasn't until I got home that I thought how ridiculous the situation had been."
To add insult to injury, the taxi driver left his meter running during the wait.
Jen added: "I am voicing something for disabled people here because I do think we are discriminated against and if I see something I do not agree with I will speak up about it." The Princess Royal was at the Nuffield to officially open the Aiding Communication in Education centre.
No-one at the centre was available for comment.
