SKI-RACER Katy Head returned home to Oxfordshire this week after retaining her overall girls combined title at the British Land National Championships.
In the high-altitude Olympic resort of Tignes in France, Katy, 15, struck gold on the opening day in the slalom by 81 hundredths of a second over Wales' Stephanie Bream.
With racing postponed on one day Katy, from Holton near Wheatley, faced a tough test with two races scheduled for the final day of the championships.
She maintained her winning form by winning gold again in the Super G before a costly error in the giant slalom dropped her to fourth.
