A man whose body was found in a roadside pond had made a teenage girl pregnant, a court heard, writes Stephen Deal.
Two people have been charged with the murder of Sean Wearmouth, whose girlfriend of last summer had a baby earlier this month.
Bryne Lincoln, 26, and 29-year-old Tracey Kyte, who live at the same address in Rodeheath, Luton, appeared before Oxford magistrates.
They are both accused of murdering 29-year-old Sean Wearmouth, whose body was found in a pond off the A421 Bicester to Buckingham road. Mr Wearmouth was known to the two defendants after being involved with Kyte's 16- year-old sister last summer and who had since had a baby, the court was told.
The defendants, who fought back tears during the ten-minute hearing spoke only to give their names, ages and date of birth.
They were flanked by two security guards and watched from the public gallery by two of the senior police officers investigating the case.
Lincoln spoke quietly to his co-accused several times.
No application was made for bail. Both defendants were remanded in custody until Friday.
