A motorcyclist died in a horrific collision with a car, which was being driven by a pregnant woman.
The accident came as Thames Valley Police prepared to launch its Bike Safe Week, starting today.
The 40-year-old male rider, who has not been named but is believed to have been from Cowley, died in the accident which took place on the A4260 between Kidlington roundabout and Loop Farm roundabout on Saturday.
The man was certified dead at the scene. The Honda bike, thought to be a 900cc Fireblade, was a write-off. The driver of the car, a blue Vauxhall Astra, was treated at the scene by paramedics and then taken to hospital for a check-up before being discharged.
Pc John Rene, of Bicester traffic base, said: "There were a lot of people who may have seen the accident and we would like them to come forward.
"Now the good weather has started we want to use Bike Safe Week to warn motorcyclists to take care on the roads."
Witnesses are asked to call 01869 364896.
