Neighbourhood Watch founder Marcel Thorbourne has been cleared of threatening to shoot a teenager in the head, but convicted of causing an affray.
Thorbourne, 38, of The Links, Gillians Way, Oxford, was acquitted of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
The court heard earlier this week that Thorbourne approached a group of youths in Marsh Park, Cowley, last September, telling them they should be at home. It was alleged he put a pistol to the side of 19-year-old Ian Anderson's face and threatened to shoot him.
Thorbourne was fed up with youngsters causing a nuisance, it was claimed.
Thorbourne denied the attack, saying he was having a bath at the time. He claimed the incident had been made up by the youngsters to get back at him.
Sentencing was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
