A mother-of-two fears she could be made homeless after being told to quit her Army home, writes Paul Warner.
Fiona Mansbridge, 32, who has lived in the semi-detached quarters in Birch Road, Ambrosden, for the last eight months, has now been told to leave by June 9.
Mrs Mansbridge, who has a two-year-old son Matthew and a five-year-old daughter Shaunie, moved there from Germany following the break-up of her marriage to Cpl Andrew Mansbridge.
But Mrs Mansbridge, who is a part-time cleaner, feels she should be allowed to remain at the house until she has found a new place to live. She said: "I'm really worried that we are going to be made homeless.
"I feel that I should be able to stay here until my accommodation problems are sorted out with the council. My family are all up in Scotland but I would like to remain in this area."
She added: "If I was on my own I would not be that bothered, but I'm really worried about what is going to happen to my two children." Mrs Mansbridge has been in touch with Cherwell District Council and she will be meeting housing officers in Bicester on May 20.
Army spokesman Gordon Skilling said every effort was made to help people in a similar position to Mrs Mansbridge find a suitable home.
He said: "We can't keep people in military accommodation indefinitely at the taxpayers' expense once they are no longer associated with the Army."
