PLUCKY Park Rovers under 15s may have left it late in the season but they finally got some points on the board!
They were in danger of losing every game this season in the B-Line Oxford Boys League but salvaged their pride with a 2-1 win over Wheatley Park in their last game of the season.
Up until then, Rovers had conceded 302 goals and scored just 12, but now their manager Jim Potter has got something to smile about - despite a record of played 24, won 1, drawn 0, lost 23, goals for 14, goals against 305, points 3.
He said: "Despite losing, it hasn't stopped them from wanting to play and we get a full side every week. But I don't think they have improved much throughout the season. They are all intelligent lads but are playing against experienced players who have been together for five years and who are light years ahead."
