GRESHAM Oxford Cheetahs face their toughest test of the season at Cowley tonight when they take on fellow table-toppers Wolverhampton Wolves.

Oxford and Wolverhampton are currently locked together at the top of the Craven Shield table with 19 points apiece, and whoever takes the spoils tonight will go clear at the top.

For Oxford, there is the chance of picking up three points as they won by 11 points when they visited Monmore Green just last week.

Wolverhampton have been rocked by the news that their talented Danish youngster Nicki Pedersen could be out of action for the rest of the season after tearing his knee ligaments in Denmark last weekend.

The Wolves management have booked Eastbourne's David Norris as a guest replacement.

Two riders are also missing from the line-up due as they are taking part in the Danish Final, Jesper B Jensen for the Wolves and Oxford's Jan Staechmann.

The rider replacement facility will be used to cover for their absences.

Oxford: T Wiltshire, rider replacement, L Hare, P Hurry, C Boyce, S Johnston, A Rossiter.

Wolverhampton: M Karlsson, G Stancl, D Norris, rider replacement, P Karlsson, R Juul, C Taylor.
