TRACK raker Donald Pocock was taken to the John Radcliffe hospital after being hit during heat three during Oxford Cheetahs win over Wolves last night.
Lawrence Hare swerved to avoid the stricken George Stancl, with Paul Hurry also on the deck, and hit the track man.
The medics were already attending the injured riders when they got a call to go to the injured Pocock, who was taken to hospital where he was admitted with severe concussion.
Hare, who was upset over the incident, blamed alterations on the Go-Kart track, which left a gaping hole near the speedway track.
He said: " I had no chance of laying my bike down. I was going pretty fast as I dodged George on the track. I had to first confront some raised grass, and then I was faced with this other obstacle.
"It was just as well I do moto-cross. I saw the poor chap leaning on his rake and he seemed to go the same way as me and I just couldn't avoid him."
