Fears were growing today for the safety of two young children who have not been seen for ten days.
Eight-year-old Jaims Burns and his seven-year-old sister, Eloise, have been taken away from the family home in Didcot.
Oxfordshire County Council's Social Services has been trying to contact the children's parents Eddie Burns and Beverley Parrott, of North Road, Didcot, since May 12.
So concerned are social workers that a district judge yesterday took the unusual step of giving the county council permission to name the family.
"There are increasing concerns for the welfare of the children," said the county council.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the family are asked to contact Thames Valley Police on 01865 846000 or Oxfordshire Social Services on freephone 0800 833408.1
