A pensioner is recovering after being viciously attacked by two teenagers on his own doorstep.
The 87-year-old man, who did not want his name to be published, was punched in the face and kicked in the stomach.
The attack happened at his home in Partridge Close, Wantage, after he answered the door to the two youths.
The man was taken to Wantage Community Hospital where he was treated for cuts and bruises and later discharged. The teenage attackers were described as being about 5ft 10in tall.
Insp Paul Kirkland, of Wantage CID, said: "This was a totally horrible crime on a defenceless, elderly man. It is sickening and we are very keen to arrest these individuals. First, I would like to issue a plea for witnesses to anybody who can give us any information. "I would also like to warn senior citizens not to open their doors to anybody they don't know or feel comfortable with and if there is any doubt to ring the police immediately."
