Former college principal Trevor Jones, who suffered horrific sky-diving injuries, has reached an out-of-court settlement with his ex-employers.
Mr Jones, 51, who was head of West Oxfordshire College at Witney, is said to be happy with the outcome agreed during a hearing at a Reading industrial tribunal.
He was bringing a case for breach of contract and disability discrimination against the Witney college, which fired him in March this year.
Mr Jones said yesterday: "The settlement obviously involves money, but I can't say what the terms are.
"I am happy with the outcome and glad that it's over. I now need to reassess my life and find out where I go from here.
"I have a passion for further education because I have benefited from it, but we will have to wait and see."
Mr Jones, of Union Way, Witney, became principal of the college in 1997. He was a self-confessed action man and took up sky-diving as a hobby.
The college was preparing to refute Mr Jones's case at the industrial tribunal but reached a "compromise" agreement. It was not prepared to comment but, in a joint statement, praised Mr Jones for his work.
