BBC soccer presenters Gary Lineker and Alan Hansen have invoked the name of their ITV-transferred former colleague Desmond Lynam - to help the fight against drinking and driving. The two former soccer stars have linked with brewers' organisation The Portman Group to invite soccer fans to join an "I'll be Des" campaign. The "Des" in this case stands for designated driver, with fans encouraged to name a non-drinking driver whenever they travel to a match. Pubs will spread the message and clubs are being asked to adopt the scheme.
