A DEAL to supply 450 Volvo S80s to Virgin Atlantic Airways will ensure that passengers in Virgin's Upper Class arrive at the airport in maximum comfort, but with a minimum impact on the environment.
The cars, which will be supplied to Tristar Cars, Virgin's chauffeur drive supplier, represent one of Volvo Car UK's biggest fleet deals.
Virgin, who will take delivery of the cars between now and the end of 2000, will use the executive saloons to collect Upper Class passengers from their home or business and take them to the exclusive check-in facilities at Heathrow or Gatwick.
The Volvo S80 was found to be the 'Greenest Executive Car' by What Car? magazine in a recent report, which concluded that the S80 had the lowest toxic emissions of any car in the test - regardless of size.
