A 70-year-old grandmother has won £103,000 playing bingo.

The woman, from Banbury, who does not want to be identified, scooped the jackpot on Monday while playing the national bingo game against players from around the country.

She is the first big jackpot winner from the new Gala Bingo Club, in North Bar, Banbury, which opened a month ago.

Stuart Green, the club's assistant manager, said: "The lady had told her friends when she came into the club she had a feeling she was going to win.

"She said she is sharing the money with her daughter who was with her and she may buy a car."
