A CONTRACT to house a galaxy of music stars has been scooped by a Banbury firm.

De Boer Structures is putting up a host of temporary buildings around The Point Depot in Dublin this week to house the MTV Europe Music Awards.

The firm will provide a media centre, VIP lounges, photocall areas and more than 100 changing rooms.

It will be the first time that the company's double-deck structures, seen at Royal Ascot and the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, have been used in Ireland.

Senior account manager Toby Bonner-Davies said: "This is a major high-profile event for the company and is a marvellous opportunity to demonstrate the quality of our double-deck structures to the Irish market."

The team from De Boer, in Middleton Road, Banbury, must put up all the structures within a four-day period and then dismantle them and clear the site within 24 hours of tomorrow's event finishing, in time for a Martine McCutcheon concert.

Mr Bonner-Davies said: "It's a challenge, but one we are happy to meet. I believe our clients and the Irish public will be extremely impressed at how quickly we can erect such a high-quality structure and then take it down."

The deal is the second major music industry contract for De Boer. In February the company provided structures around London Arena for hospitality and the after-show party for the Brit Awards ceremony.

Last month the firm provided temporary buildings for an exhibition of military equipment at Chertsey, in Surrey, involving more than 700 defence companies.
