Oxford Utd Res 1, Bristol City Res 3 COURT Place Farm was not a happy hunting ground for Steve Davis, who was twice at fault as United's reserves slumped to a disappointing defeat against Bristol City in a Avon Insurance Combination game at Oxford City's ground yesterday afternoon.
Recent signing Ben Abbey gave Oxford an early lead, walking the ball into the net after City's goalkeeper Tynan Scope fumbled a headed back pass .
The youngster went close to adding a second in the 13th minute, but after dribbling round Scope, his fierce shot was headed off the line.
Bristol equalised seven minutes later when Davis, out through injury and suspension since the departure of Malcolm Shotton, failed to clear a simple through ball, and Alex Meecham equalised.
City's second-half scorers were Ben Wright and Marvin Brown, the latter scoring from a penalty after Davis needlessly handled in the area.
